Suha Qashou

My name is Suha and I am a conceptual and multimedia artist based in the Detroit area who creates work with an emphasis on themes of identity. I also create digital artwork, specializing in logos, merchandise design, and custom posters. As of 2024, my work is dedicated to exploring the juxtaposition of Arab and American identities. I also like to explore the paradox of the human experience throughout everyday life. As well as being an artist my background includes art history and much of my work is installation based. This adds to my growing interest in museum work and curation. In 2024, I founded a gallery event called The People's Art Show, run entirely on donations and the efforts of the artists involved. I currently work as an art teacher and theatre director for elementary aged students and plan to attend School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the fall of 2025 to pursue my Masters of Fine Arts in Visual Communication Design.
